Ongoing Project

Chennai Metro Rail – Phase 2, Corridor-5

The Chennai Metro Rail Project (Phase-2, Corridor-5, Package-6) focuses on the construction of elevated viaducts and modern metro stations, playing a crucial role in enhancing Chennai’s urban transport infrastructure.

This package covers the design and execution of 11 elevated metro stations along a stretch of approximately 11.61 km, starting from Puzhuthivakkam Metro Station (excluding) and extending beyond Elcot Metro Station.

In addition to the viaduct and station works, the project includes station building entry and exit structures, underground (UG) sumps, excavation, plain cement concrete (PCC), and reinforced cement concrete (RCC) works. These are essential to ensuring the stations are structurally sound, durable, and capable of handling high passenger traffic.

This development is part of the broader Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) Phase-2 initiative, aimed at providing a faster, safer, and eco-friendly transport solution for the growing metropolitan region.
